Goal Setting

Goal Setting

This workshop is perfect for those looking to start a new career, find a job, as well as looking to advance your position within your company.

They say that without goals, we have no energy. When your motivation is low, your commitment, determination and passion are tested. You become aware that your worthwhile goal will remain just that, unless you get motivated and stay motivated to achieve it. Our ability to achieve comes from our desire to achieve it rather than our preconceived notion of talent and this desire can be inhibited by various internal and external factors.

It will provide participants with an opportunity to look at how they build effective relationships at work as well as provide an opportunity to practise responding assertively to a range of situations in the workplace.

This programme is delivered over 2 days but can be adapted to suit as required.

Youth Employment Programme

Youth Employment Programme

Targeted towards young people trying to find a pathway to success; the Youth Employment Programme includes PX2. They say that without goals, we have no energy; if this is the case then PX2 shows us how to set specific goals in a relaxed and fun environment to generate the energy required to achieving them.

This programme challenges our preconceptions of our own abilities and perceived lack of potential. This is achieved through a structured process which begins with assessing barriers to success, 'blind spots' to information and who gives us the 'truth' about who we are. Moving onto building confidence, challenging comfort zones and ultimately setting goals beyond our present understanding of potential.

All this is achieved through fun exercises and games which highlight how our mind works; group activities that promote creativity as well as team work; short bursts of video clips to highlight the concepts; making PX2 a practical, exciting and fun way to inspire you towards a better future.

Programme Accreditation

PX2 is a recognised learning route for the Level 2 Award in Developing Effective Thinking Skills (QCF) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and is credited and levelled by SCQF at level 5 in Scotland, through the awarding body NCFE.

This programme is delivered over a minimum of 4 days but can be adapted to suit as required.

Discrimination in the Workplace

Prejudice and discrimination within the workplace can be a daily experience for some people and one which we should all guard against. Whether the motivation is age, race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, experience, ability or personal, it can create a cultural division which is counterproductive to any workforce. This workshop addresses issues which may have an impact on our attitudes and values as well as raise awareness of how we can discriminate against groups/individuals as well as how to guard against it.

The ability to operate on a non-discrimination basis is an integral part in both acquiring employment as well as maintaining employment and improving your service.

Many of the exercises within this workshop were devised by Martin Wolfenden from his publication "Face it up; race and prejudice: attitudes and values" and is used within many workplaces, colleges and universities across the UK.

This programme is delivered over one day but can be adapted to suit as required.

Equality Awareness for Work

"The history of the past is but one long struggle upward to equality"

                                        - Elizabeth Cady Stanton

History is filled with social division and ultimately striving for equality amongst all social groups. These divisions are created through fear and misunderstanding, and this is highlighted no better than within the workplace.

It is important for us all to appreciate the diverse nature of the modern workforce and accept not only gender and racial equality but ethnic, religious and cultural differences. This workshop looks at the causes of inequality, challenges our attitudes to one another and highlights that attitudes are changeable.

To raise awareness of equality issues and encourage participants to think about the impact of their own behaviour on others in the workplace. This one day workshop looks at what constitutes unacceptable behaviour in the workplace and/or community. It will provide participants with an opportunity to reflect and consider equality issues in a range of situations.

Personal Development Workshops

Assertiveness/Effectiveness for Work

Assertiveness is the quality of being self-assured and confident without being aggressive. We are all subject to our natural fight or flight mode which results in either aggressive or submissive behaviour. This therefore makes assertiveness a form of compromise, but most importantly a choice. When we are either aggressive or submissive it tends to be a reaction to a situation, whereas assertiveness tends to be an action.

In this workshop we will cover; A Definition of Assertiveness, Controlling Passive and Aggressive Behaviour, The Consequences of Lack of Assertiveness, Assertive Communication.

This programme is delivered over one day but can be adapted to suit as required.

Personal Development Workshops - Motivation

Personal Development Workshops

The following customised training can be delivered over one day but times can be adapted to suit. They have been customised to suit participants who are unemployed and progressing into employment or can be delivered in the workplace.

Motivation

"The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential...these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence"

- Confucius

When your motivation is low, your commitment, determination and passion are tested. You become aware that your worthwhile goal will remain just that, unless you get motivated and stay motivated to achieve it. Our ability to achieve comes from our desire to achieve it rather than our preconceived notions of talent and this desire can be inhibited by various internal and external factors.

Abilities wither under fault finding and blossom with encouragement. This workshop gives us an insight into how and why we automatically focus on the negative and challenges us to focus on the positive consequences of achieving our goal. The more we want something, the more energy we create to achieve it.

Within this workshop we look at different forms of motivation and focus primarily on low self-esteem as having the most significance on our perception of our ability and therefore motivation.

This workshop is perfect for those looking to start a new career, find a job, as well as looking to advance your position within your company or improve your service if you are currently employed.

This programme is delivered over one day but can be adapted to suit as required.
