Supporting your industry

An education, employment and skills system that is responsive to the needs of industry is critical to the UK's economic success. Play your role in helping shape the system.

Design qualifications and curriculum

We want to work with you to support your business and we do this through the following ways to encourage you to participate in local and national initiatives:

  • Find qualifications for your sector
  • Accredit your internal training

West College Scotland offers a wide range of nationally recognized courses and qualifications that are accredited by the Scottish Qualifications Authority. Many of its qualifications are also accredited by internationally recognized professional bodies or institutes. Many of the courses are specifically designed to meet the needs of today’s changing industries, and the college has very close links with local employers and sector skills agencies.

The college has agreed progression and articulation agreements with many Scottish and UK universities. These agreements make it easy for many HNC and HND graduates to build on their qualification and gain a university degree.

Work with sector skills organisations

All partners within Inverclyde Employer Plus aim to work with the Alliance of Sector Skills Councils and fully support the aims of putting employers at the heart of the skills system and supporting local employers to drive a simplified skills system that is flexible, responsive and collaborative. In doing this the aim is to ensure employers have the right skills needed for sustained economic recovery and growth.
